The National Cable and Telecommunications Association has been quick to respond to yesterday’s report that the U&#46S&#46 has now dropped to 15th among OECD countries in broadband penetration. A letter to the House and Senate Commerce Committees insists that the report is “misleading” and that everything is, in fact, fine. “Deployment and adoption of high-speed Internet service in the U.S. is a success story that shouldn t be portrayed as a failure because of misleading statistics,” insists the organization. Of course, this is the same organization that says rising cable TV prices are actually dropping if you look at them right.
