Winner of the prestigious “Least Interactive Pet” award, the Aquapict LED aquarium houses three jellyfish. Sure, they’re fake, but you can’t really tell, and even if they were real, it’s not like you’d take them out for a walk. So along with the Least Interactive Pet award comes the equally prestigious “Most Lifelike Fake Pet” award, since just like real jellyfish, these silicone ones drift around in circles (thanks to an invisible current in the water), bump into stuff, and glow (in 5 different colors with LEDs built into the tank). According to the OhGizmo staff marine biologist [That… would be Evan. -Ed. ], these look rather like animalia cnidaria scyphozoa semaeostomeae pelagiidae chrysaroa chrysaora quinquecirrha. Additionally, as a public service, we’d like to point out that these are properly called jellies, not jellyfish, since they’re not fish, in the same way that starfish should really be called sea stars. OhGizmo thanks you for recognizing the importance of proper taxonomic nomenclature. [Evan takes marine biology to heart. Can you tell? -Ed. ]
If you want your own silicone jellyfish, the whole system is $200 delivered from Japan.
