Sony has released a new portable stereo with an iPod dock. It is being released in time for the summer. It features a digital AM/FM tuner and CD player with CD/R and CD/RW support. The remote control gives full iPod menu access. It will charge your iPod when the iPod is docked. I do not actually own an iPod, but am in the market for a new portable stereo. This looks like a good, cheap option that will last a reasonable length of time.

At the same time, Sony is releasing a clock radio with iPod dock in a similar price range. Batteries are not included, which considering Sony’s record with batteries, is probably a good thing.

Price, according to the Sony press release is about $100 for both models. They will be available from August.
