SAN JOSE, USA (AVING) — Hanson Robotics introduced its prototype robot ‘Zeno’ featuring fully expressive face during RoboDevelopment Conference and Expo 2007 that was held in San Jose. The robot can keep track of where people’s faces are, turn around to make eye contact, and learn the names and voices of the people that interact with it. Measuring 17-inch tall and 170g weight, it runs on lithium polymer batteries with 1 hour battery life.

Hanson Robotics partnered with Massive Software, the developer of AI simulation software used in film ‘the Lord of the Rings’. The vision and decision making components in Massive Software give Zeno the ability to navigate, make facial expressions, and move his body based on what he sees in his physical environment.
