Kurata’s 4M Tall Iron Robot Sculpture

ScopeDog
ScopeDog is a 4 meter 1:1 scale recreation of a robot that appeared in an ’80s cartoon called Votoms. It was created by Japanese Ironsmith Kogoro Kurata as he once built a plastic model of the same robot and appreciated its aesthetics. It weighs two tons, took a year to build and cost Kurata a broken bone. The results, you could argue, are worth it; that is if you have space for a 4m-tall, 2-ton hulking great mass of iron.
