Objet Geometries Alaris 30 Desktop 3D Printer, a Big Printer for Making Little 3D Things

The Alaris 30 is a desktop printer that offers prints of 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Big deal you say, but that is three-dimensional printing and there is virtually no end to what you can build with it; it can even create moving, interactive parts. It is designed for printing 3D CAD files, with a process that is as simple as pressing print.

The object tray is 300 x 200 x 150mm, which is big enough for just about anything, if you want something bigger than that, simply design it in multiple parts. With 0.1 – 0.2mm the parts ought to fit flush. While I probably wouldn’t get much more creative than replicating lego blocks and minifigs, there really are some awesome possibilities for this type of printer.
