FCC Commissioner Deborah Tate, who recently gained attention from many only after criticizing World of Warcraft, says she’ll be stepping down (pdf) in early January after serving three years on the Commission. Tate’s claim to fame is as a child and family advocate, though she was also a staunch supporter of Digital Rights Management. Tate was also largely a party-line deregulator, voting with the Conservative majority on most issues, including allowing the merger of AT&T and BellSouth with only marginal conditions.
