Google GDrive. The rumor that will just not die. Google’s entry into online storage, like the (recently discontinued) X-Drive, or Box.net would possibly be a killer app for Google at a time they need their next “big hit”.
But how exactly would you monetize that? More Google AdSense ads? Connect this to GMail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar perhaps? Or is it part of a bigger, also oft-rumored online Google Office that would go head to head with Microsoft’s Office Live Workspace?
The Dailymail (UK) thinks that the Google GDrive will make computers redundant.
I don’t fully agree, but it is one interesting read on the Google rumor that just won’t die.

The Internet has come a long way since its inception. There are now several different ways to get an internet connection. One can do this by inserting wireless internet card in computer or can use DSL. Apart from this, internet phones and ip phones are there as well to help people connect internet through phones. Internet telephony is not the last option available, wireless internet providers are there as well to offer internet connectivity.

Hi. Full disclosure here: I work for http://www.nomadesk.com, which offers easy and secure file sharing, wherever you are. I read this post on Google’s GDrive with great interest and just wanted to add NomaDesk to the mix.
In fact, NomaDesk has similar features and is geared towards the need of the “digital nomad”. We are convinced that the more data gets synchronized, the more likely it gets compromised. Therefore, NomaDesk includes an encrypted virtual drive that keeps your files securely available off-line and remote file shredding and IP-tracking with TheftGuard. Of course, we impose no limits on storage and bandwidth.
The current NomaDesk release 2.6 displays file states and indicate whether files are already in use by someone else. You are also able to add and review notes (i.e. meta-data). The Mac version is on its way.
I would appreciate your review.

I can honestly state that I’ve never heard of Nomadesk until now. I use Box.net – mostly through my iPhone, and have used to use X-Drive.
