Another morsel to come out of Fiat’s 2-year plan is the short term product plan for Lancia, a brand that the parent company has been accused of neglecting for quite a while. In addition to the usual refreshes and facelifts, the truly juicy bit is that Fiat plans 17 new vehicles over the next two years, and Chrysler platforms will provide the basis for four Lancias.

Chevrolet Motors has introduced a dealer-installed Wi-Fi internet system by Autonet Mobile that acts as an internet hub whilst traveling around.

The first U.S. built Kia vehicle, a white Kia Sorento, rolled off the production line today at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG), the first opening of an U.S. Kia Motors plant. KMMG is expected to produce 300,000 vehicles at full capacity and employ 2,500 people, with on-site and nearby suppliers creating 7,500 additional jobs in the region.

Microsoft is playing around with some tech that will make Google Maps look like an old world map that Lewis and Clark might have used. Some people can travel by landmarks alone. Some people can be given a list of streets and be just fine. I’m a landmarks type of traveler… as long as you’ve included the street names too.
Kia Motors unveiled the first official exterior images of the all-new premium executive sedan ‘K7′, code-named ‘VG’ today, ahead of its domestic sales launch in the end of the year. Previewed earlier this year at the Seoul International Motor Show with the KND-5 concept car, the all-new Kia K7 will retain sporty and emotional look of the KND-5 concept car.

I can admire the recently launched microsite for the Mercedes AMG SLS using Adobe Flash, SWFAddress for deeplinking and some rather cool Flash movies (*.flv). And that’s before you even see the car… which is downright beautiful with the gull wing doors that made 1954-1957 Mercedes 300SL so darn sexy.
