LG Electronics unveiled its stylish ultra-slim TV during LG press conference at CES 2010, which boasts 6.9mm thickness at the slimmest part and 10mm-thick bezel.

LG Electronics and Skype today announced ‘Skype on Your TV’, its broadband TV with embedded Skype capability, which allows Skype users to make voice and high-definition video calls directly from their family room without a PC. The Skype Your TV will be demonstrated this week at the International Consumer Electronics Show.

“Embedding the Skype software in our broadband HDTVs enriches the user experience, allowing consumers to connect with family and friends from the comfort of their family room without a PC,” said Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. Skype on LG HDTVs will give our customers another flexible option in allowing them to communicate using Skype, as well as access content directly through their HDTV.”

The Skype service on a TV will work much as it does on a PC. A TV program will stop playing once a Skype call is made or answered. The new LG TVs will also deliver familiar Skype features, including free Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls to other Skype users, calls to landline or mobile phones at Skype’s low rates, and being invited to participate in voice conference calls with up to 24 other parties.

LG Electronics has launched its new clamshell phone Candy Phone (model: LG-SU410) targeting young female customers, now available in the Korean market via SK Telecom and Japan market via NTT DoCoMo.

Available in white and pink colors, the Candy Phone is designed with a unique keypad and red LED lights on the front panel. Adopting a 2.8-inch LCD screen, it features T-DMB, a micro SD card slot supporting up to 16GB and more.

LG Electronics launches its Android based smartphone OPhone, model: LG GW880 in the China market. The LG OPhone supports TD-SCDMA, the 3G standard in China.

Adopting a 3.5-inch WVGA touch screen with 800 by 480 resolution, the OPhone features CMMB (China Multi Media Broadcasting) support, a 5M camera, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.

LG Electronics today launches its new smartphone LG GW550 running on Windows Mobile 6.5 OS in twenty countries starting in Brazil and Argentina. Coming in a candybar form-factor, the LG GW550 features 12mm-thick 2.4-inch LCD screen and front-facing QWERTY keyboard. Designed for businessmen, it supports ‘Smart E-mail’ and ‘Smart Contact’ functions, and adopts a high-performance dual-speaker. Other features included a 3.2M camera, Wi-Fi support, A-GPS and more.

Looks a lot like the Nokia E series.
