Verizon and Skype fix the nasty wi-fi bug in their (as of now) exclusive Android Skype client

Unfortunately for users, the version just released for the Apple iPhone also seems to have some odd restrictions.

Skype also announced that they will not be delivering a Skype application for the upcoming Microsoft 7 Phone platform.

The FREETALK HD Everyman Webcam sends and receives HD video when used with Skype 4.2 for Windows and above, a PC with a 1.8 GHz dual-core processor or faster and a high-speed broadband connection of at least 1 Mbps symmetrical bandwidth.

The Skype service on a TV will work much as it does on a PC. A TV program will stop playing once a Skype call is made or answered. The new LG TVs will also deliver familiar Skype features, including free Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls to other Skype users, calls to landline or mobile phones at Skype’s low rates, and being invited to participate in voice conference calls with up to 24 other parties.

Apple iPhone and iPod touch users can receive and make fring and Skype video calls entirely over Internet connection for free when the person on the other end is in front of a camera.

I guess the release could be considered dramatic – it released on Tuesday March 31st exactly at midnight.

The current iPod Touch supports the microphone on Apple’s new earphones; which makes for a very exciting possibility – namely that it should be able to function as a Skype phone. It is not a perfect solution, indeed it would have been much better for Apple to have incorporated an onboard mic, but it is [...]

Did you know that we only smile 35% as much as we think we do? And that the longest recorded laughing fit was in a village in Tanzania in 1962 and lasted two years? Two years?! Well, 1962 was ages ago. At Skype, we’ve decided it’s high time we had another laughter epidemic — but [...]

I’m in Seoul with Josh Silverman, Skype’s President. Three months into the job, Josh was invited to give the keynote business speech at the Conference of Ministers on ‘the Future of the Internet Economy’ of the OECD (the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the leading inter-governmental organization dealing with economic and social policy). This [...]

Your mobile rings, you take the phone out and it says Unknown or a weird combination of numbers – and so you don’t pick up the call. Sounds familiar? This might have been someone calling your phone with Skype because only people that had bought online numbers could set them to show on their friends’ [...]

The Internet has come a long way since its inception. There are now several different ways to get an internet connection. One can do this by inserting wireless internet card in computer or can use DSL. Apart from this, internet phones and ip phones are there as well to help people connect internet through phones. Internet telephony is not the last option available, wireless internet providers are there as well to offer internet connectivity.
