Even though this has been stated to be Apple’s “next biggest thing”, the Apple iPad is mostly for consumers that didn’t buy the Kindle. Powerusers will just say “no” to the Apple iPad.

Apple announced that AT&T would be the exclusive partner for the new iPad, and contrary to expectations – no Verizon (EVDO) compatible iPhone was announced.

Just a day or so to go before Apple’s January 27th event, the speculation about the rumored Apple Tablet is reaching a fever pitch. The guys over at Unplggd have posted a couple of realistic photos that might be oft-rumored Apple Tablet.

Cowon launched its Windows 7-based MID Cowon W2 in the Korea market. It comes with a 4.8 inch wide LCD screen with 1024×600 resolution, utilizes an Intel Atom processor for low power consumption.

All of the drama surrounding the CrunchPad seems to not have stopped Fusion Garage from relabeling the CrunchPad the JooJoo. It runs off of an *Nix based OS and possesses a rather large 12.1 inch capacitive screen.

How about Full HD on a Smartphone? Unreal? Well, Zii Trinity mobile platform proves that this is possible. It will allow its users to enjoy Full HD video on this device. It has been designed by Creative Ziilabs and will run on Android and Plaszma interface. Making this step we can say that cellphones are coming even closer to netbooks thanks to their possibilities.

Michael Arrington, founder of TechCrunch has finally announced what many people had already assumed months ago… that the Crunchpad, an internet tablet that allowed for quick access to the web in an inexpensive gadget that offered 12 inches of capacitive touch screen goodness is finally dead. Gone. Vaporware like the Infinium Labs Phantom.

Nokia announced today a total combined loss of 1.36 Billion – that with a big “B” folks – due to slumping sales during it’s Summer 2009 sales. This would include the sale(s) of their flagship Nokia N97 which sold relatively strong with 2 million units in about 3 months. The problem though was that most users shifted from their flagship, more expensive phones to much lesser expensive phones due to the global economy downturn.

I’ve been avoiding covering this because I actually wanted to get the new OQO Model 2+ to replace my OQO Model 01+ that I’m using right now to post this. For the first time, there was going to be an actual Intel chip inside as well as (on the higher model) an OLED vibrant screen and upwardly to 2gb of RAM. Compared to my lowly OQO 01+, the OQO 2+ would have been the worthy update.
