Verizon Quiet On How They Determine A City’s Worthy Of FiOS

Baltimore this week decided to hold a public hearing exploring why they weren’t part of Verizon’s $23 Billion FiOS plans. The city denies that they were in any way the cause of Verizon’s decision, either by being difficult franchise negotiation partners or by imposing heavy conditions on Verizon.

Comcast Xfinity Rebranding Largely Laughed At – Analysts, Customers Aren’t Particularly Impressed

Comcast unveiled their plans to rebrand their Internet, VoIP and TV services all under the “Xfinity” moniker. While Comcast was hoping to create a modern brand that could do battle with AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FiOS, the decision to misspell infinity with “extreme” and painfully cliche 90′s brand stylings wasn’t a particularly inspired or creative choice.

Windstream Communications has announced that the company will be buying Greenville, South Carolina CLEC NuVox Communications for a cool 3 million. Like most CLECs, NuVox has found its niche primarily as a small business operator, offering service to approximately 90,000 business customers.
