Earlier this week a free, tiny (1,000 feet total) municipal Wi-Fi network in Ohio was forced to shut down after an MPAA legal warning. A network user had apparently transferred a file copyrighted by Sony Pictures, and instead of risking a costly legal fight, the network decided to simply shut down.

Sony revealed its 52-inch Bravia 3D TV supporting 1920 x 1080 resolution during CEATEC JAPAN 2009.

Just a few days after its release, the Sony PSP Go has been hacked already. Sorta. The hacker, Freeplay, is using an older exploit but it doesn’t quite yet mean that homebrew on the PSP Go is… well a go.

No doubt brought forth due to the pending release of the Sony PSP Go later today (October 1st, 2009), Sony has released the 6.10 Firmware for the PSP-3000 and so forth. Besides the typical “security” updates, Sony added SensMe.

Humor. Death. Usually those two words don’t even fit into the same sentence; but from the makers of Secret of Monkey Island come DeathSpank… a game that’s bound to be equal amount of death-dealing and entertaining.

You have got to be kidding me. There’s a Papa John’s promotion about ordering pizza(s) through the PS3 browser!? Like gamers need another reason to never leave the house… Sony’s assisting gluttony.

Sony seriously should stop trying to keep secrets. So the renders were very wrong (thank goodness) and the above picture is the real Sony PlayStation 3 Slim.

After so many leaked, rumored images of the possibly worse kept secret in Sony history, could it be that the Chinese game magazine GameWave that recently posted an unconfirmed report finally revealed the true PS3 Slim images. And that it is to be shown at the upcoming GamesCom next week; and PS3 Slim is set to launch in September, for $299?

The phone introduced to the world initially as a concept phone named “Idou”, the newly named and released Sony Ericsson phone has been christened Satio, the Symbian based phone has a 12.1 megapixel camera and came with a feature that somehow I overlooked. It can play Playstation games.

With the Nintendo Wii and DSi selling like crazy all over the world and a surge in sales for the Microsoft 360 in Europe and America, Namco Bandai and Konami are both bringing out former Sony PS3 exclusives to the Microsoft 360 – Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid among other companies and games are “defecting” from the Sony-exclusive camp.

Sony had learned a lot from the PSP-2000 and PSP-1000 versions and had hardened the PSP-3000 against the typical attacks. Seems like the nearly unhackable Sony PSP-3000 running the 5.03 firmware has been hacked finally.

Namco Bandai released a new debut teaser for Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny for PSP. The game will be released in summer 2009.

Sony Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is coming for the Sony PSP in the fourth quarter 2009.

Perhaps Sony was listening when they released this upgrade since a lot of people reported having issues with 5.02 – read here for a lot of disgruntled folks. You know the drill. Just right before I went to sleep, I decided to fire up NBA 2K9 and was prompted to update to the new 2.50 firmware. The cool bits, my PS3 can now finally view Adobe Flash Player 9 material. Erm. Great. I don’t even like using the browser to view the PlayStation Store for free downloads. [...]
