Buoyed by the recent ITU declaration that nobody is technically deploying a 4G network here in the States, T-Mobile recently kicked off a new marketing campaign proclaiming that the carrier has the “largest 4G network.”

One cornerstone of the new campaign is apparently making fun of AT&T’s network, which has seen more than its fair share of criticism the last few years due to performance issues in markets like New York and San Francisco. Recent commercials portray AT&T as a balding, middle aged man weighing down the iPhone 4, and the latest ad in the series airing this week certainly isn’t flattering. AT&T got into a feud with Verizon last year about ads mocking AT&T 3G coverage (they even filed suit), but so far hasn’t had anything to say about T-Mobile’s campaign.

I’ll just ask why this isn’t in the news? Why isn’t her voice and the voice of the affected as present as the voice of the people that have done this to that area? Quick summary, this is a Venice, Louisiana local that was granted security access and describes the lack of effort on BP’s part.

Engadget has the scoop on Apple’s next incarnation of Apple TV, which actually sounds more interesting than the original Apple TV, a somewhat underwhelming product. According to anonymous tipsters likely countering all that Google TV discussion, Apple’s next Apple TV device will be about the size of an Apple iPhone and will cost just a hundred bucks.

It looks to have roughly the same internals as the Google TV (namely an A4 CPU and 16GB of flash storage) – though it will be capable of 1080p HD. The device also looks to have just two ports (video out and power) and may utilized cloud storage. Of course whether the device is really useful depends on what content’s available and just how obnoxious Apple intends to be when it comes to locking the device down.

Just like all things cool on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, this will require some jailbreaking and some know-how; however Redmond Pie has shown you how to save some $499 and get the newer iPad interface onto your iPhone/iPod Touch.

Since iPhone, iPod touch and iPad uses the same OS (iPhone OS), the look and feel is generally the same throughout the three iDevices except for the few tweaks here and there in the iPhone OS 3.2 running on the iPad.

Now if you want to make your iPhone and iPod touch to look exactly like the iPad, simply follow the steps as shown in the video below to get the same lockscreen and springboard background, carrier logo which reads “iPad”, an iBooks like app, New York Times reader, the entire Kindle books catalog and much more.

I wonder if this will work on the first generation iPhone… hmmm. Hello weekend project.

Call it a work in progress, but some illustrious members of Maemo.org have gotten Google Android (Eclair) to boot and be functional on the Maemo Linux based Nokia N900. Why is it a work in progress? The touchscreen works, as well as the keyboard on the N900; however you will not be making any phone calls via Android on the N900 quite yet. In fact, not all sounds or modules have been interfaced yet.

Although recently soft-announced, having the price finally announced – it’s going to sell for $199 – and seeing that they’ve expanded the Adobe Flash player to include the forthcoming 10.1 enhancements… I’m interested. The D-Link “Boxee Box”, model number D-Link DSM-380, is indeed becoming the little box that could do it all.

Well, today Google announced the upcoming Google Chrome OS. I never thought I’d say this, but this is a good thing for the casual user that use their netbooks or lower powered computers that only need to access the Internet for mail, communication and other web related items.

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

Now… let’s see how advertising works it way into this.

Just a few days after its release, the Sony PSP Go has been hacked already. Sorta. The hacker, Freeplay, is using an older exploit but it doesn’t quite yet mean that homebrew on the PSP Go is… well a go.

See what I did there? Anyway, the details:

This was a known exploit that was abandoned because better prospects came along. I did not discover it; I just figured out how to make it work properly. Better hackers than I likely figured it out way before I did; they just never used it for anything I know of.
• I won’t be releasing this or divulging the name of the game involved. It’s a proof-of-concept, and it may become more developed privately, but until there’s a worthwhile reason to release it it’ll stay private. I’d prefer that Sony not patch it before it becomes really useful.
• It’s user-mode only, meaning no flash modification, no piracy, no advanced custom themes, no plugins – none of that. I wouldn’t expect anything else to come from it, unless I get some help.

So, who knows. At $249 and with homebrew, the Sony PSP Go might become a worthy purchase. But as it stands right now… I’ll pass and keep my PSP-3000.

I almost OD’d on the original Street Fighter IV when it came out. Even missed a day of work to keep up with some battles I had started online with some co-workers that also missed out on a day of work too.

Capcom announces Super Street Fighter IV coming out in February, 2010.

Capcom has officially announced Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 and Xbox 360, the game will be released in February 2010. Super Street Fighter IV will have improved character balance and 8 new characters, including T. Hawk and Dee Jay from SSF2 and Yuri. The game will be a standalone game but it will not have a full game price. There will be additional content for users who already purchased the original Street Fighter IV.

I’m already waiting.
